Why this site exists
For years, "free solar panels" was a phrase you could half-believe, because schemes like ECO4 really did fund panels for qualifying households. That changed when ECO4 closed to new measures on 31 March 2026. The trouble is that the marketing did not change with it — "free solar" is still everywhere, now mostly as a hook for finance mis-selling. We built this site to set the record straight: to explain what is genuinely live, who qualifies, and how to avoid being misled.
What we do
We are an independent information and introduction service, not an installer. We map the funded routes that exist in 2026 — 0% VAT, the Smart Export Guarantee, zero-deposit finance and PPAs, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, business capital allowances and group-buying — and we run a free eligibility check that tells you, honestly, which ones fit your property. How we make money — and why it does not bias our advice
We are paid by installers when an enquiry leads to work. That is a standard lead-introduction model, and we are upfront about it because it matters. It is also why we are comfortable telling you when solar does not suit your roof, or when no funding route fits: a referral that goes nowhere helps no one, and our reputation depends on being right rather than on closing a sale. You never pay us anything.
